Wildlife Drone Force is an initiative by Izindlovu Fund that provides UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) technology to wildlife organizations for conservation purposes. Launched in February 2021, we donate drones to organizations like HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) and Transfrontier Africa to support their daily conservation work.
How Drones Support Conservation
Wildlife Census
Drones help count wildlife populations across large areas, providing important data for conservation planning.
Fence and Infrastructure Inspection
Quick aerial inspections of boundary fences and reserve infrastructure help identify damage or problems that need attention.
Anti-Poaching Support
Drones can patrol large areas and provide surveillance to support anti-poaching efforts, helping rangers protect wildlife more effectively.
Search and Rescue
When animals or people need rescue, drones can quickly search terrain and locate them, guiding rescue teams to the right location.
Donate Your Drone
Have an unused drone? It could help protect wildlife in Africa.
We accept drone donations from individuals and organizations. If you have a drone you're no longer using, contact us to see if it's suitable for conservation work in the field.

Types of Drones We Use
We work with different types of UAVs depending on the conservation needs:
- Manually piloted quadcopters: Versatile drones for inspections and wildlife observation
- FPV (First-Person View) drones: Fast, agile drones for quick response and patrols
- VTOL BVLOS UAVs: Long-range autonomous drones that can cover large areas for census work
Support Wildlife Drone Force
Your support helps us provide drones and training to wildlife organizations across Africa. Donations help us purchase equipment, provide training, and maintain drones in the field.
